I am Steve Haigh, a Chief Technology Officer and product-led engineering leader based in Cambridge and London, UK.

For the last 25+ years I have been building digital platforms in regulated environments, from capital markets and fintech to healthcare and telecoms. I enjoy taking complex domains and turning them into practical, reliable systems that teams and customers can trust.

What I am doing now

I am currently CTO at Tokenovate, where I lead product, architecture, and engineering.

Our focus is post-trade automation and settlement for Repo/SFT and Derivatives using FINOS CDM, with integrations into traditional custodian rails and multiple blockchain networks. A big part of my work is connecting strategic product direction with hands-on delivery: lifecycle workflows, control frameworks, integration patterns, and client-facing technical design.

What I have done before

Before Tokenovate, I led engineering organisations across a range of sectors:

At Genomics Plc, I led engineering for precision health platforms in highly regulated clinical settings.
At Azuri Technologies, I helped scale cloud and payments systems serving around 200k customers in sub-Saharan Africa.
At Cambridge Consultants, I built and led the Internet and Service Software capability, delivering cloud-based digital services across satellite telecoms, healthcare, energy, and IoT.

Across these roles, I have built and scaled multidisciplinary teams, delivered large programmes, and operated under strong governance requirements including ISO 27001, SOC 2, DORA, ISO 13485, and HIPAA.

Real-world outcomes from technology, not just architecture for its own sake
High-integrity delivery in complex, regulated domains
